Sequential Promo Mix 2014

Here is my latest promo mix, created under our ‘Sequential’ banner, a brand and night spearheaded by Ben Shields, Dave Rogers and myself.

After our successful launch night – featuring Chymera – last year, our fingers are itchy and we’re looking ahead to our follow-up night.

This mix was also featured on Andrew Wowk’s ‘Time To Track’ radio show on Bondi Beach Radio.

I’ve been rather guilty of not giving my “dot com” enough attention, as it most certainly deserves.

As we enter the Australian warm summer months, here are a couple of new mixes from me…

The first, is a promo mix compiled and created on the back of my recent set at ‘Significant Others’, at The Burdekin Hotel, Sydney, in late November.

The mix features a selection of the tunes I played on the night – some deep, some disco-driven and some techy, but all really quite accessible!

I felt it was all quite well received by the Friday crowd – and I hope you enjoy it all the same.

This remix was submitted for a Juno.co.uk remix competition, and was completed over the course of a Winter Saturday afternoon by Ryan White and yours truly.

We believe that this effort rings quite true to the original tune – which is a fabulous piece of music in its own right – and is one that we enjoyed putting together.

As always, comments and feedback are appreciated.

There is every chance that we’ll upload another version, if adjustments are made.

Eric Mould – ‘Paradigm Shift’ Mixtape – AVAILABLE NOW!

Eric Mould - Paradigm Shift Mixtape

It gives me great pleasure to advise that my mixtape for Eric Mould’s ‘Paradigm Shift’ – on Revision Records – is now available on Beatport.

The project was offered to me around two years ago – by Eric Mould – who was in process of creating the album, at the time. He’d heard one his tunes, ‘Vivid Beats’, in a mix of mine on our radio show, ‘The M Shift’, and liked the way that his tune was played. He made contact shortly after, and here we are!

Eric’s album is a tasteful concoction of dubstep, breaks and drum ‘n’ bass, complete with attention-to-detail and complex production.

The mix was not without its challenges in certain areas, particularly when it came to significant tempo changes, whilst still trying to keep a “fluid” sound in the mix. Overall, though, I think it translates as an enjoyable listen, and is a tribute to the quality production, on the album.

Our latest SPOiLTcast addition is now available!

For our second episode, yours truly and fellow SPOiLT resident, Andy Wright, are once again on mixing duties.

For the first hour, I’ve brought a selection of my current favourite, deep and nu disco sounds, complete with catchy vocals and obligatory 80’s-emulated synth sounds.

A couple of mixes, from the archive…

Since Soundcloud’s recent paid account “restructure”, I thought it best to make available a few more of my favourite mixes from years by gone.

The first, is a little taste of some of my most cherished prog. and tech breaks tunes from over the years, completed sometime during 2009, if my memory serves me correctly.

 

The second, was really a spur-of-the-moment trance mix, completed on a long weekend in 2008. One of those mixes that just happened, really.

I hadn’t really played – nor been closely following – trance for some time, prior to this mix, so it was a refreshing change.
